The SCI model received a update for the winter season. Scott, his daughter Leah, and Chris got together to give the model a nice cleaning and to spread the winter cheer by winterizing the model.
IowaLUG, for the 3rd year, has volunteered a member or two to help at the Iowa FLL Regional Qualifier event hosted by the Science Center of Iowa. This year Scott was our guy in the trenches with some MOCs on display, helping the FLL'ers, and spreading the IowaLUG info.
IowaLUG members Chris, Scott, and Ryan and his boys hung out at SCI today sharing a sneak peak at our winter landscape project. Not much about this build has been announced by us as of yet but we're excited to show off our latest efforts.

On the last day of the Iowa State Fair, IowaLUG supported the ACE Mentorship program at the STEM Day at the Fair which was organized and sponsored by the Governors STEM Council. Blank Children's Hospital serves an essential role for the children and families that need their services. This year marked the 30th year of their annual fundraising event, the Festival of Trees and Lights. IowaLUG was honored to participate during the week long public event by pouring nearly 10,000 bricks out in a LEGO Build Station activity area.
The November SCI $5 Family Night featured all things LEGO! The long awaited return of the LEGO SCI Model for public display was a great reason to get a bunch of fans of LEGO together, so in conjunction with the Family Night, the IowaLUG did a little show.
